Project Overview
Magnolia Barn is a self-build conversion of former agricultural buildings into a contemporary residential space. The design required a flooring solution capable of unifying the full footprint across both levels while reinforcing the modernised architectural approach.
Polished concrete was specified to provide continuity, durability and a clean, minimal finish throughout the property.
The Brief
The brief required full-floor coverage across a complex layout incorporating multiple levels and transitions.
Key requirements included:
162 m² of polished concrete across the entire property
Integration of three sets of steps within the floor structure
Seamless continuity across two levels
A finish aligned with the contemporary interior design
A robust, low-maintenance surface suitable for daily use
Consistency of finish across the full footprint was critical.
The Solution
We installed polished concrete throughout the entire property, coordinating pours and finishes to achieve a continuous surface across both levels.
The installation incorporated three stripped and rendered step formations, integrated directly into the main slab.
A Steel Grey finish with a satin sheen was specified to complement the interior palette and provide a balanced level of reflectivity.
Delivering continuity across a full-footprint installation required careful sequencing and level control.
