Project Overview

Anterre and Belanu are two contemporary self-build eco homes designed with a focus on sustainability, material efficiency and modern architectural clarity. The scheme required polished concrete flooring throughout both properties to reinforce their minimal aesthetic and environmental performance.

The installations span both ground and first floors, incorporating split-level layouts and wet areas, with each property finished in a distinct bespoke tone to reflect its individual design identity.

The Brief

The brief required a flooring solution that could deliver continuity across multiple levels while integrating seamlessly into functional spaces such as bathrooms.

Key requirements included:

  • 48 m² ground floor polished concrete across split levels

  • Three stripped and rendered step formations

  • 30 m² first-floor installations

  • Integration within walk-in shower areas

  • Bespoke colour specification for each property

  • A durable, low-maintenance surface aligned with eco design principles

Consistency across both homes was essential, while still allowing for individual variation in finish.

The Solution

We installed polished concrete across both properties, coordinating each phase to ensure consistent execution across the two builds.

One property was finished in Flint, providing a softer, lighter aesthetic, while the second utilised a Steel Grey tone to create a more defined, contemporary feel.

The installations extended across split levels and into wet areas, maintaining full material continuity throughout each home.

The split-level design and inclusion of wet areas required detailed planning and execution.

Key considerations included:

  • Accurate level coordination across stepped floor areas

  • Forming and finishing of stripped and rendered steps

  • Waterproof detailing and sealing within walk-in showers

  • Integration of drainage within polished concrete surfaces

  • Maintaining consistent polishing standards across both properties

Each installation was carefully sequenced to ensure uniformity in finish and performance.

Technical Considerations

Each stage was carefully planned and executed to ensure the final surface met both the aesthetic vision and the practical demands of the home.

The Result

The completed floors provide seamless continuity across both homes, reinforcing their clean architectural language and sustainable design intent.

The bespoke finishes differentiate each property while maintaining a consistent material approach, delivering a robust, low-maintenance solution that performs effectively across all living spaces.
