What is Exposed Aggregate?
Exposed Aggregate concrete is created by removing the top layer of cement paste from freshly poured concrete to reveal the decorative stone within the mix.
This process exposes the natural aggregates — such as gravel, granite or other stones — creating a textured surface that offers both visual depth and practical durability.
Because the stones are embedded within the concrete slab itself, exposed aggregate provides a robust finish that performs well in exterior environments while maintaining a natural architectural appearance.

Natural Stone Character
Enhances any exterior with a distinctive, natural aesthetic that adds depth and visual interest and stands the test of time.
Exceptional Durability
High-performance finish that's built to last for decades with minimal maintenance.
Slip-Resistant by Design
The textured aggregate surface provides improved grip, making it a safe and practical choice for driveways, patios and pathways where slip resistance is important.
Versatile Applications
Offers a wide range of aggregate types, exposure levels, and finishes to meet unique preferences and complement any outdoor space.
Natural Colour Variation
The natural stone within the concrete mix introduces subtle colour variation, giving each installation a unique appearance that complements its surroundings.
Low Maintenance
Designed with a textured surface that sheds dirt and debris, requiring only occasional pressure washing and periodic resealing to keep looking its best.

Very professional company and very easy to work with.
Very well organised and knowledgeable, happily working to our timescale and very accommodating when the schedule needed tweaking without skipping a beat.
Worked very well with all the other trades and were just at the end of the phone to offer advice or clarify anything when required.

We’ve used choice concrete twice and both times they've been great to deal with. Their pricing is clear, their workmanship seems second to none and the way they tidied up after themselves is very rare these days.
I would highly recommend them for polished concrete floors. They laid concrete both internally and externally at our current home and it looks and feels great.

Professional from beginning to end of job. A big task for the boys but completed the job on time and perfect. Can’t thank you enough especially Sam who was always about to answer any questions.
Will definitely use Choice again for our next project.

How It Works
Installing exposed aggregate concrete requires careful timing and experienced finishing techniques to achieve a consistent surface.
Sub-base Preparation
The ground is prepared to create a stable base for the concrete slab.
Concrete Placement
Concrete containing the selected aggregate mix is poured and levelled.
Surface Exposure
The surface is treated and washed to reveal the natural stone within the concrete
Sealing
Once cured, the surface is sealed to enhance durability and protect the exposed aggregates.
When installed correctly and onto the correct subbase, exposed aggregate concrete can last 25 years or more.
Yes, we have a minimum order value of £5000.
Absolutely! We offer a wide range of colors through concrete dyes and stains, as well as different aggregate exposures and finish levels from matte to high-gloss. Custom patterns, logos, and designs can also be incorporated.
No. The textured surface provides excellent grip, making it a safer option than many smooth concrete finishes, especially around driveways, pathways, and pool surrounds.
Exposed aggregate is relatively low maintenance. Occasional pressure washing and resealing every few years will help keep the surface looking its best and protect it from staining.
Exposed aggregate offers greater visual appeal, improved slip resistance, increased property value, and a wider range of decorative options compared to standard concrete finishes.
